\r\nDon’t fix it if it ain’t broken, says the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce\r\n\r\n\"300x243<\/a>\r\nabout the county-proposed\r\n\r\nchanges to the Moody Activities Zone (MAZ)<\/a>,\r\nin a resolution<\/a>\r\nmailed to its members Friday.\r\n

\r\nChamber Board of Directors action:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\nWhile\r\nthe Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is extremely supportive of\r\nproperty rights and wary of intrusion upon those rights, we are also\r\nextremely supportive of Moody Air Force Base and its continued and\r\nvaried missions in our community. Moody, for more than 70 years, has\r\n\r\n\r\nprovided our community with wonderful citizens, employment for our\r\nregion and significant economic benefit. Given these realities, the\r\nalways precarious nature of possible mission changes for the Base and\r\nthe importance of protecting the unparalleled zoning and noise\r\nprotections our community has in place for Moody, the Chamber does\r\nnot support passage of the ULDC Text Amendment as they change the MAZ\r\nDistricts and noise provisions. While there may be portions of the\r\nproposed Amendment not dealing with the MAZ that the Chamber can\r\nsupport, as proposed, in a single revision, we urge the Greater\r\nLowndes Planning Commission and the Lowndes County Commission to vote\r\nagainst the proposed Amendment.\r\n

\r\nApproved unanimously by the Board of Directors of the\r\nValdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce at their regular monthly\r\nmeeting on June 23, 2015.<\/em>\r\n<\/H3>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
