\nI don\u2019t consider myself an extremely political person,\nbut I do believe\nthat people should stand up for what they believe in. The Valdosta\ncommunity has recently come together to do just that.\n

\nOn Friday, I participated in the\n\n<\/a>\n\nOccupy Valdosta march<\/a>\nwith over 100\nstudents, teachers, and other members of the Valdosta community. I was\nexcited that I got to shed my title of Spectator reporter and\n\n<\/a>\neditor for a\nday and actually fully take part in an event. The turnout was, in a word,\namazing. Honestly, I was trying not to get my hopes up too high for this.\n<\/blockquote>\nThe rest of her very interesting experiences and opinions are well worth\na read.\nHere’s her conclusion:\n\n\n

\nBeing a part of this march was, in a word, liberating.\n\n<\/a>\nI felt like we\nwere really doing something, like maybe things will begin to change. Not\nnecessarily because we marched once, but the global movement that the\nOccupy Wall Street movement has become has the potential to make big\nwaves in the world as we know it.\n

\nLike Ghandi said, \u201cBe the change you wish to see in the world.\u201d\n\n<\/a>\nBy\ncoming out, taking a stand and letting our voices be heard we provide\ninspirations for others to do the same.\n

\nEventually, if you make enough noise, someone, somewhere will listen.\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<\/a>\nHere is Amber the next weekend at the \nVote No School Consolidation March<\/a>.\n
