\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nNot on the agenda for the 9 June 2015 Regular Session:\r\n\r\nsettlement agreement<\/a> for the county’s unnecessary\r\nlawsuit against Deep South Sanitation.\r\nCommissioners had no questions, but I have two:\r\n

  1. \r\nhow much did the county spend on the lawsuit?\r\n
  2. \r\nhow much did the county end up paying DSS?\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    \r\nAlso unscheduled:\r\n\r\nRecognition of Leadership Lowndes Attendees<\/a>.\r\n

    \r\nCitizen\r\n\r\nBilly Rowland<\/a>\r\nhad some comments about road grading and wondered how Animal Control\r\ncould come take his dog from his posted property yet not do anything\r\nwhen he reported barking dogs.\r\n

    \r\nThey approved a Scruggs Co. contract for\r\n\r\nPaving on Coppage Road<\/a>, which includes curb and gutter to\r\nsave some of the tree canopy.\r\nThey approved a\r\n\r\nBid for Bemiss Road Mowing<\/a> even though it’s a state highway, plus\r\na\r\n\r\nBid for a Zero-Turn Mower for the Public Works Department<\/a> from Nashville Tractor.\r\nThey\r\napproved the\r\n\r\nBid for a Fire Pumper for Lowndes County Fire Rescue<\/a>\r\nand the\r\n\r\nLCSO Patrol Car Laptops Lease Purchase<\/a> and\r\ntabled the\r\n\r\nLowndes Middle School Utility Service<\/a> from Valdosta utilities.\r\n

    \r\nVia LAKE open records request,\r\nsee the\r\n\r\nboard packet item<\/a>\r\nfor the complicated \r\n\r\nMoody Activity Zones<\/a>\r\nText Amendments to the Unified Land Development Code\r\nthat were tabled for more time at the Tuesday June 9th 2015 Regular Session\r\nof the Lowndes County Commission.\r\nSee the LAKE videos of the Planning Commission<\/a>\r\nmeeting that considered the MAZ and the rezonings on this agenda.\r\nThe\r\n\r\nShiver<\/a>\r\nand\r\n\r\nKinsey<\/a>\r\nrezonings were\r\nwere approved unanimously\r\nwith no speakers from the public and no Commissioner comments.\r\nThe\r\n\r\nOrchard at Stone Creek<\/a>\r\nrezoning discussion about a retirement home lasted for 14 minutes, including updated maps\r\nthat were only provided to LAKE on paper, despite a request for\r\nelectronic copy.\r\nSee also the\r\nagenda<\/a>\r\nand the\r\nLAKE videos of the previous morning’s Work Session<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
