Under current<br \/>\nbudget constraints it will be difficult to implement such a project,<br \/>\nbut businesses in the industrial parks and outlying areas may want to<br \/>\nimplement a limited transportation system if they discover that employee<br \/>\nattendance is an issue.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Also on page 9 of the corresponding<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.industrialauthority.com\/file\/Lowndes%20Community%20Assessment%20PP%20color.pdf\"><br \/>\npresentation slides<\/a> under Product Recommendations:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nSUPPORT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nEmerged as a topic of concern during focus groups<\/p>\n<li>\nDirectly impacts industry recruitment and workforce\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hm, employees may want a way to get to work!<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/httplaketypepadcomon-the-lake-front20110912m-to-widen-us-41-n-is-more-than-75m-for-a-bus-systemhtml.html\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6189\/6132913157_04b8c90899_m.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nMaybe the community, including the city and county elected governments,<br \/>\nshould put more priority on<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/httplaketypepadcomon-the-lake-front20110912m-to-widen-us-41-n-is-more-than-75m-for-a-bus-systemhtml.html\"><br \/>\na bus system.<\/a><br \/>\nT-SPLOST is not a very good way to do it, but there may be others.<\/p>\n<p>\nCongratulations to Georgia Power and the Industrial Authority<br \/>\nfor conducting this study and putting it online where everyone can see it!<br \/>\nAlthough next time it might be good to be a bit more inclusive of<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/what-can-we-do-as-a-community-to-better-cooperate-dr-noll.html\">input from the community.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n-jsq<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Perusing the Community Assessment for Lowndes County sponsored by Georgia Power and prepared by Janus Economics for the Industrial Authority, I noticed on page 28 under Recommendations: There is a plan for a public transportation system in Valdosta-Lowndes County but it currently lacks funding for implementation.
