There was no meat in the whole letter. The last line sums<br \/>\nit up, &#8220;We BELIEVE&#8230;&#8221; yada, yada, yada. Faith based thinking might<br \/>\nfly in religious institutions, but in the education of our children,<br \/>\nwe have a pretty good handle on what is needed. Deferring to those<br \/>\ntrained and with years of experience in the education of our children,<br \/>\nwho have brought<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/all-about-school-consolidation.html\"><br \/>\ncountless facts to the discussion,<\/a> none of which the<br \/>\nChamber can or has bothered to refute, I will go along with<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/08\/the-school-systems-dont-want-to-consolidate-walb.html\">both Boards of Education<\/a><br \/>\nand vote NO to consolidation.<\/p>\n<p>\nI did note that Mr Gooding offered to &#8220;combine our resources and our<br \/>\nefforts and work together as a community to transform two average<br \/>\nschool systems&#8230;&#8221; Since he used the first person plural  &#8220;our,&#8221;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nI can<br \/>\nonly conclude he was including himself, the Chamber and its members,<br \/>\nalong with the Boards of Education and citizens of the county. How<br \/>\nwonderful! This is what is needed. Mr Gooding is offering the expertise,<br \/>\ntime, and financial resources of its Chamber to help educate all the<br \/>\nchildren of our community. How great is that?<\/p>\n<p>\nHow about as a first step the Chamber pledge an equivalent amount of<br \/>\nmoney it and its members have spent on CUEE to the Boards of Education<br \/>\nyearly, to be used as the teachers see fit?<\/p>\n<p>\n-Jim Parker<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Received today on Why the Chamber Supports Unification. -jsq So true, John.
