\r\nSpeaking up in a public meeting should result in violations of\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nsomeone’s rights under the First (“peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances”), Fifth (“nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law”), or Eighth (“Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”) Amendments.\r\nAnti-fracking activist Alma Hasse is seeking legal redress.\r\nThis could be a nationwide trend, with one local bully apologizing<\/a> to Nydia Tisdale to avoid jail in Forsyth County, Georgia,\r\nafter settling for $200,000<\/a> for being ejected\r\nfrom the Cummings, Georgia City Council for videoing.\r\nNydia hasn’t filed charges yet for the\r\n\r\ncase of the six missing screams<\/a>, in which she was forcibly\r\nejected from a public campaign event headlined by Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal\r\nfor videoing.\r\nMaybe if you advertise a public meeting, you can’t throw someone out for videoing,\r\nand you can’t arrest somebody for speaking up in public government meeting.\r\n

\r\nAlma Hasse was\r\n\r\narrested for \r\n\r\nspeaking up in a Planning & Zoning public meeting<\/a>\r\n9 October 2015,\r\nheld incommunicado with no clean clothes or shower for five days,\r\nand then\r\n\r\nejected on her own recognizance<\/a>,\r\nbut with $10,000 bail and charges of tresapass and restricting\r\nand obstructing officers.\r\nAll charges were dropped by the Payette County, Idaho prosecuting attorney\r\n2 April 2015.\r\n

\r\nIn her claim, Hasse alleges the county’s actions violated her First,\r\nFifth and Eighth Amendment rights and her right to due process. In\r\naddition to Payette County commissioners, planning and zoning\r\ncommissioners and prosecuting attorney, the claim also includes\r\nmembers of the Payette Police Department, Payette County Sheriff’s\r\nOffice, Payette County Jail.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
