McClure reported for the VDT\n4 November 2011 that\n<a href=\"http:\/\/valdostadailytimes.com\/local\/x57156577\/FVCS-makes-campaign-contributions-public\">\nFVCS makes campaign contributions public<\/a>:\n<blockquote>\nAshley Paulk, Lowndes County Commission chairman contributed $200\n<\/blockquote>\nSo it&#8217;s not like the public doesn&#8217;t already know Ashley Paulk&#8217;s opinion\non this subject, and it seems he was reminding us of it: he contributed money to FVCS, a group actively lobbying to prevent the school consolidation promoted by CUEE.\n<p>\nChairman Paulk also noted:\n<blockquote>\nWe do have county residents who live in the city.\n<\/blockquote>\nSeems like he&#8217;s confusing two excuses for the Commissioners not speaking about school consolidation:\n\n<!--more-->\n<ul>\n<li>\nThe Lowndes County Commission doesn&#8217;t do schools. True, although\nneither does the Valdosta City Council, and that didn&#8217;t stop them from making a statement of opinion.\n<li>\nThe County Commission is separate from the Valdosta City Council.\nTrue, but consolidation will affect the whole county, and, as\nthe Chairman noted, many county residents (about half, actually)\nlive in Valdosta.\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nChairman Paulk also said his opinion that the Commissioners didn&#8217;t want to make\na statement was pretty much the consensus of the Commission,\nand they all nodded their heads.\nThat raises again the question:\nwhere did they form that consensus?\nAt which open meeting, as required by state law?\n<p>\nAnd why is it that Commissioners (including Paulk, in at least one meeting)\nfeel free to comment on federal government issues over which they have no\ncontrol, yet won&#8217;t comment on a local issue that affects every Lowndes\nCounty resident?\n<p>\nHere&#8217;s\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Z1TVIRSvYmY\">\nthe video:<\/a>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"480\" height=\"390\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z1TVIRSvYmY\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<br>\n<small>\nAnd I feel like there&#8217;s somebody meddling in their affairs; I wish they wouldn&#8217;t have. &mdash;Ashley Paulk @ LCC 7 November 2011\n<br>\nRegular Session, Lowndes County Commission (LCC),\n<br>\nValdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia, 7 November 2011.\n<br>\nVideos by John S.
