\nFriends,\n

\nEven though we the Citizens of Valdosta have spoken and defeated that\nhostile takeover, this is not the time to let up. We all must stay a\nvigilant as possible and never let anything like this happen again.\n

\nOne way in which everyone in Valdosta and Lowndes can make a impact is\nto write a letter to Amy Carter, Admin. Floor Leader to the Governor,\nand ask for her to introduce a bill to repeal the old 1928 law that\nCuee was able to use.\n

\nRemind Amy that she has an obligation to bring this bill to the floor.\nRemind her that the people\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

\nDemocrats, Republicans, Tea Party Members,\nBlacks, Whites, Rich and the Poor, from Lowndes and Valdosta came out\nand voiced their displeasure and concern with the way that the old\nlaw was used to divide a community. Tell the whole community wants a\nsay so in the matters of School Consolidation, not just the City.\n\n<\/a>\n

\nRemind her that she is up for re-election next year and we won’t forget\nher if she fails to listen to the will of the people.\n

\nI also attached\n\nsome information of how legislation in introduced<\/a> in\nthe Ga. General Assembly\n<\/blockquote>\nRepealing that 1928 law will leave\nthe provisions in the later Georgia Constitution<\/a>\nas the way to consolidate school districts, and the GA Constitution\nrequires citizens in all affected school districts to have a chance\nto vote.\nThat would prevent any further attempts at\ntaxation without representation.<\/a>\n
