Quarterman asked the Commission to\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/video-meetings-like-lowndes-board-of-education-john-s-quarterman-lcc-7-november-2011-.html\">\nvideo meetings like the Lowndes Board of Education does<\/a>,\nand got a slightly different excuse this time than the many previous times he&#8217;s made similar requests.\n<p>\n<li>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/and-i-feel-like-theres-somebody-meddling-in-their-affairs-i-wish-they-wouldnt-have-ashley-paulk-lcc-7-november-2011.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i3.ytimg.com\/vi\/Z1TVIRSvYmY\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\nMatt Portwood\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/and-i-feel-like-theres-somebody-meddling-in-their-affairs-i-wish-they-wouldnt-have-ashley-paulk-lcc-7-november-2011.html\">\nasked the Commission or the individual Commissioners to state a position\non school consolidation<\/a>\nand was told they weren&#8217;t going to.\nThe VDT printed that much the next morning, the morning of the election\nwith the referendum on school consolidation.\nThey did not print Chairman Paulk&#8217;s allusion to\nhis already-known support for FVCS in opposing consolidation,\nbut LAKE published a video with that on Election Day, and you can\nsee it here.\n<p>\n<li>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/how-can-we-pursue-happiness-when-we-dont-even-have-a-job-tony-daniels-lcc-7-november-2011-.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i4.ytimg.com\/vi\/wYg6QEQFG-k\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\nTony Daniels wanted to know\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/how-can-we-pursue-happiness-when-we-dont-even-have-a-job-tony-daniels-lcc-7-november-2011-.html\">\nHow can we pursue happiness when we don&#8217;t even have a job?<\/a>\nand had several recommendations for how the various local elected and\nappointed bodies could go about getting us more jobs.\nHe also illustrated that the Commissions ordinance on Citizens Wishing\nto Be Heard is, as we&#8217;ve discovered on many previous occasions,\nmerely guidelines at the whim of the Chairman.\n<p>\n<\/ul>\nCitizen participation!\n<p>\n-jsq\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Five citizens spoke up at the 7 November 2011 Lowndes County Commission Regular Session.
