Quarterman asked the Commission to<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/video-meetings-like-lowndes-board-of-education-john-s-quarterman-lcc-7-november-2011-.html\"><br \/>\nvideo meetings like the Lowndes Board of Education does<\/a>,<br \/>\nand got a slightly different excuse this time than the many previous times he&#8217;s made similar requests.<\/p>\n<p><li>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/and-i-feel-like-theres-somebody-meddling-in-their-affairs-i-wish-they-wouldnt-have-ashley-paulk-lcc-7-november-2011.html\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i3.ytimg.com\/vi\/Z1TVIRSvYmY\/default.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nMatt Portwood<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/and-i-feel-like-theres-somebody-meddling-in-their-affairs-i-wish-they-wouldnt-have-ashley-paulk-lcc-7-november-2011.html\"><br \/>\nasked the Commission or the individual Commissioners to state a position<br \/>\non school consolidation<\/a><br \/>\nand was told they weren&#8217;t going to.<br \/>\nThe VDT printed that much the next morning, the morning of the election<br \/>\nwith the referendum on school consolidation.<br \/>\nThey did not print Chairman Paulk&#8217;s allusion to<br \/>\nhis already-known support for FVCS in opposing consolidation,<br \/>\nbut LAKE published a video with that on Election Day, and you can<br \/>\nsee it here.<\/p>\n<p><li>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/how-can-we-pursue-happiness-when-we-dont-even-have-a-job-tony-daniels-lcc-7-november-2011-.html\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i4.ytimg.com\/vi\/wYg6QEQFG-k\/default.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nTony Daniels wanted to know<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/11\/how-can-we-pursue-happiness-when-we-dont-even-have-a-job-tony-daniels-lcc-7-november-2011-.html\"><br \/>\nHow can we pursue happiness when we don&#8217;t even have a job?<\/a><br \/>\nand had several recommendations for how the various local elected and<br \/>\nappointed bodies could go about getting us more jobs.<br \/>\nHe also illustrated that the Commissions ordinance on Citizens Wishing<br \/>\nto Be Heard is, as we&#8217;ve discovered on many previous occasions,<br \/>\nmerely guidelines at the whim of the Chairman.<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Citizen participation!<\/p>\n<p>\n-jsq<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Five citizens spoke up at the 7 November 2011 Lowndes County Commission Regular Session.
