\r\nOn their\r\n\r\ncalendar<\/a>,\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nbut no\r\n\r\nagenda<\/a>,\r\nit’s another\r\n\r\nSpecial Called Meeting-Solid Waste Management<\/a>.\r\nWill they talk about\r\n\r\nillegal trash dumping<\/a>?\r\nWhy can’t they wait until their regular meetings next week?\r\nEqually mysterious is why\r\nit took almost two months to get back to this after the\r\ntwo meetings<\/a>\r\nin\r\nJanuary<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nHere’s\r\n\r\ntheir announcement of the meeting this afternoon<\/a>:\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nThe Lowndes County Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Called\r\nMeeting on Monday, March 16, 2015, 4:00 p.m., for the purpose of\r\naddressing solid waste management in unincorporated Lowndes County.\r\nLocation: Lowndes County Commission Chambers 327 North Ashley Street\r\n— 2nd Floor Valdosta, Georgia For questions please call County\r\nClerk, Paige Dukes, at 229-671-2400 or pdukes@lowndescounty.com\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nThey did talk about solid waste management at their\r\n\r\n5 February 2015<\/a> retreat,\r\nand the Chairman’s \r\nfirst goal the next day<\/a>\r\nwas Solid Waste.\r\nBut neither the public nor the principal parties,\r\nAdvanced Disposal Service (ADS) nor Deep South Sanitation (DSS), were\r\npermitted to speak at that retreat.\r\n

\r\nSpeaking of those goals, they \r\napproved them<\/a> at their 23 February 2015 Regular Session,\r\nyet when Gretchen filed an open records request for the board packet,\r\nthey weren’t included in the email response<\/a>\r\nand\r\nminutes for that meeting are still not\r\n\r\non the county’s website<\/a>\r\neven though they already approved them\r\nat their 10 March 2015 meeting<\/a>.\r\nFor that matter, there are no minutes on their website for any meeting since\r\n29 January 2015,\r\nand no minutes for either of the two January Solid Waste Special Callled Meetings.\r\n

\r\nSo, what is the Commission’s Goal for Solid Waste?\r\nWhat will they vote on this afternoon about Solid Waste?\r\nWhy can’t it wait until next week?\r\nAnd why don’t they want the voting and taxpaying public to know?\r\n
