The VDT has a story this morning about an Industrial Authority meeting
\nlast night,
\n
\nTwo new industries announced<\/a>
\nby Kay Harris.
\nThat’s a bit of a surprise, since they didn’t have that date on their
\n
\n<\/a>
\nown web page and they didn’t post an agenda.
\nAlso, I saw both VLCIA Executive Director Andrea Schruijer
\nand their Chairman Roy Copeland speak Monday night, and neither
\nof them said a word about their meeting date being changed to the
\nnext night.<\/p>\n

\nHere’s some irony in the VDT’s story:<\/p>\n

\nSchruijer also discussed the Authority\u2019s plans to move ahead with the
\n
\n<\/a>
\nStrategic Planning Process right after the first of the year. Following
\nthe Community Assessment which was conducted over the summer, the next
\nphase is a full fledged commitment to begin the planning process.<\/p>\n

\nThe intention, according to Schruijer and Copeland, is to include
\ncommunity partners in the process as the assessment showed that many
\nin the community think that the various entities work at odds with
\neach other, rather than on the same page, when it comes to economic
\ndevelopment.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Why ever would people think that?<\/p>\n
