{"id":1225,"date":"2011-12-08T18:25:40","date_gmt":"2011-12-08T23:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2011\/12\/vlcia-pleads-technical-glitches-on-web-page.html"},"modified":"2011-12-08T18:25:40","modified_gmt":"2011-12-08T23:25:40","slug":"vlcia-pleads-technical-glitches-on-web-page","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2011\/12\/vlcia-pleads-technical-glitches-on-web-page.html","title":{"rendered":"VLCIA pleads technical glitches on web page"},"content":{"rendered":"Here&#8217;s something from the Industrial Authority that never happened before.\n<p>\nThe first person I saw going into the\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/12\/local-state-legislative-delegation-at-the-country-club.html\">\nState Legislative Luncheon<\/a>\nyesterday was Andrea Schruijer,\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/12\/industrial-authority-held-unannounced-meeting-last-night.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"    src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/php\/include\/govt\/vlcia\/ASchruijer_02.jpg\"><\/a>\nExecutive Director of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority (VLCIA).\nShe spotted me inside, and said &#8220;I want to apologize&#8221;.\nSurprised, I asked for what?\nShe said for\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/12\/industrial-authority-held-unannounced-meeting-last-night.html\">\nthe date of VLCIA&#8217;s Tuesday meeting being unclear.<\/a>\nShe said she had read about that in this blog that same morning.\n<p>\nShe said they had recently changed the way they were handling their\nweb pages and hadn&#8217;t yet figured out how to update it correctly.\nSince I was never very impressed with how it was handled before,\nI readily accepted that as a good excuse.\nI look forward to the updates.\nI&#8217;m guessing the new PR and marketing person they&#8217;re hiring will take care of this.\n<p>\nShe also volunteered that they did inform the VDT and it was in the\nVDT&#8217;s calendar.\nI agreed that that was so; we had checked, and it appears the meeting\nwas legal because of those notices.\n<p>\nShe also said she thought she had said Monday evening, &#8220;see you tomorrow.&#8221;\nI allowed as how if she did, I missed it.\n<p>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/01\/tiny-lake-is-flattered-by-mighty-vlcia.html\">\n<img style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   width=\"96\" height=\"100\"\nsrc=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_ybWYkg1IPDI\/Sl8JRtcGUAI\/AAAAAAAAANw\/qvlYfS8rorM\/s400\/owlandelephant01.jpg\"><\/a>\nIn any case, I have to say that her predecessor would never have made\nthat much effort to make amends to a mere blogger.\nOnce again,\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/01\/tiny-lake-is-flattered-by-mighty-vlcia.html\">\ntiny LAKE is flattered by mighty VLCIA<\/a>,\nalthough in a more positive way this time.\n<p>\nCongratulations on the <a href=\"http:\/\/valdostadailytimes.com\/local\/x91293334\/Two-new-industries-announced\">new industries announced at VLCIA&#8217;s Tuesday meeting.\n<\/a>\nMaybe more about those later.\n<p>\nHere&#8217;s looking forward to the Strategic Planning Process announced at that\nsame meeting as coming up early next year.\n<p>\n-jsq\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Here&#8217;s something from the Industrial Authority that never happened before.
