Video will follow tomorrow, in which you will\nsee the room was packed, mostly with people opposed to the road closing,\nsome from as far away as Tifton.\nAll concerned now have two weeks to absorb all the new information\nand work out a solution.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nBelow is what I sent to the Lowndes County Commission at\nCommissioner Joyce Evans&#8217; request before the meeting tonight,\nfollowed by a bit more information.\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\nSubject: River Corridor Protection Plan\n<br \/>\nDate: Tue, 12 Feb 2013 16:49:50 -0500\n<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDear Commissioners and County Planner,\n<p>\nWhen I was talking to Joyce Evans just now, I mentioned the\n100 foot natural vegetative buffer state law requires\nlocal governments to establish next to perennial rivers.\nHere is a summary of the state law, the definition it contains,\nthe GA EPD rules, and some notes on the relevant parts of\nthe Lowndes County Comprehensive Plan.\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<!--more-->\n<blockquote>\n<p>\nLowndes County govt may not be a Qualified Local Government\nunless it has a River Corridor Protection Plan, which it\ndoesn&#8217;t at the moment. He did not know whether they were consistent\nwith the 2010 law.
