CWTBH - Robbie Dixon\" src=\"http:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/5K195IdTY2k\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nA first-time speaker against the Sabal Trail pipeline\r\ndemonstrated there was opposition and reminded us all we have\r\na voice, and asked the Lowndes County Commission to speak up as well,\r\nin\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/11\/videos-pipeline-agriculture-lighting-appointments-and-parks-lcc-2014-11-11.html\">\r\nthe 11 November 2014 Lowndes County Commission Regular Session<\/a>.\r\n<p>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5K195IdTY2k&#038;index=24&#038;list=PLshUv86fYkiEJoyxihQxf7Cv4dMd2SMMU\">Video.<\/a>\r\nRobbie Dixon\r\nsaid he had been approached by their contractors asking to reroute\r\nthe pipeline onto his property, which would take about half his property.\r\nHe asked anybody in the audience who was there about Sabal Trail\r\nto stand up. About 30 people did.\r\nHe said he did that because\r\nthere are a lot of rumors that only a few people were concerned.\r\nHe said there was no local benefit to landowners,\r\nand any potential tax benefit to the county shouldn&#8217;t\r\nbe considered without consideration of the ill effects to landowners.<!--more-->\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center;font-size:80%\">\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5K195IdTY2k?list=PLshUv86fYkiEJoyxihQxf7Cv4dMd2SMMU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nHe said he knew neighbors who had been threatened with eminent domain\r\nfor a pipeline nobody would benefit from.\r\nHe said any one-time easement payment would be tiny compared to the large amounts\r\nof money the pipeline company would make ongoing.\r\n<p>\r\nHe asked the Commissioners to do what the\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/spectrabusters.org\/2014\/11\/11\/consider-panhandle-route-page-2-of-dougherty-county-sabal-trail-resolution\/\">\r\nDougherty County Commission<\/a> did, and pass a resolution\r\nin opposition to the Sabal Trail pipeline passing through Lowndes County.\r\n<p>\r\nYou don&#8217;t have to wait for the Lowndes County Commission.\r\nYou can <a href=\"http:\/\/spectrabusters.org\/2014\/11\/06\/ecomment-to-ferc-by-nov-15th\/\">ecomment directly to FERC<\/a>, and, more importantly, you can\r\ncontact your local, state, and national elected and appointed officials\r\nand the public and recommend they stop this unwanted, unneed, and hazardous pipeline.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n -jsq\r\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A first-time speaker against the Sabal Trail pipeline demonstrated there was opposition and reminded us all we have a voice, and asked the Lowndes County Commission to speak up as well, in the 11 November 2014 Lowndes County Commission Regular Session.
