\nDespite
\n
\nAlfred Willis saying<\/a> the
\n
\nNichols House<\/a> was not just
\n
\nhistoric like he presented in his October 1st lecture<\/a>,
\nbut perhaps the most historic,
\n
\na lawyer spoke against it<\/a>,
\nand
\nthe Valdosta City Council voted against preserving it
\nand thus in favor of demolishing it for the
\n
\nTurner Brooks<\/a> subdivision next to VSU.
\nOnly Council Robert Yost, in whose district the Nichols House remains
\nfor the moment,
\n
\nvoted for preserving it<\/a>.
\nWe’re told the
\n
\nwater issues noted by WWALS<\/a> for that subdivision
\nare permitting issues, so we’ll see what happens with those.
