\nThe reporter didn’t call it “new”, Troy Davis did when he sent it to\nall the teachers. Maybe you should talk with some teachers who are\ndeeply against the policy before you start ranting. And to correlate\nthis with consolidation is ridiculous, you’re just stretching for\ncontroversy.\n

\n-Amy\n<\/blockquote>\nDr. Smith enumerated several other things which he alleged that reporter\nmisrepresented; see above link.\n\n<\/a>\nAnd Dr. Troy Davis\n\nset the record straight yesterday<\/a> in the VDT.\n

\nI’d be happy to talk to teachers, pro or con. Send ’em over!\n

\n“Stretching for controversy”? Around here you have to duck to avoid controversy.\nYou know, like the VDT saying it won’t publish any more stories about school\nconsolidation….\n

\nI see the VDT is not ducking this one, though, rather helping stir it up.\nIn yesterday’s story, the VDT announced mission accomplished:\n

\nThe new grading policy for grades third through eighth released by the\nLowndes County school system in January has stirred controversy locally\nand even nationally.\n<\/blockquote>\nIt wasn’t the grading policy that stirred controversy, it was Scott James, Fox News,\nthe VDT, the AJC, the SMN, etc.\nAnd that “controversy” will make it easier the next time “unification”\nrears its ugly head.\n
