Nathan Deal\r\nnot only caused a citizen journalist to be roughed up and\r\nevicted, and her camera taken, apparently the local law edited\r\nher video recording to remove the sound of her screams.\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fetchyournews.com\/archives\/19628-Video-Journalist-Forcefully-Removed-From-Republican-Meeting!.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fetchyournews.com\/uploads\/BreakingNews\/Sam-Burts-41.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nJim Galloway wrote 22 September 2014,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/politics.blog.ajc.com\/2014\/09\/22\/the-case-of-the-six-missing-screams\/\">\r\nThe Case of the Six Missing Screams<\/a>,\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nYou&#8217;ll remember Tisdale as the citizen-journalist from Roswell who\r\nwas arrested in August at a GOP rally at a pumpkin farm in\r\nDawsonville for pointing a video recorder at candidates. Which is\r\nwhat she does.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nIn front of the top of the GOP ticket, including Gov. Nathan Deal,\r\nTisdale was grabbed &mdash; then roughed up. Her camera was<!--more-->\r\nconfiscated by a Dawson County sheriff&#8217;s deputy.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nBut when the camera was returned several days later, the single\r\ncomputer file that should have been the result of the rally\r\nrecording had been divided in two. And six screams were missing.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/09\/nydia-tisdales-video-of-being-arrested-for-videoing-a-public-event.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/da6cba3afa9fe6f2c4ccaee590de2eb8.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nGalloway reminds us that there&#8217;s an independent sound recording\r\nof the missing time period\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fetchyournews.com\/archives\/19628-Video-Journalist-Forcefully-Removed-From-Republican-Meeting!.html\">\r\nby Brian K. Pritchard of FetchYourNews.com<\/a>,\r\nin which you can clearly hear her scream\r\nfor help, and the speaker at the podium laugh about it.\r\nHere&#8217;s\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/09\/nydia-tisdales-video-of-being-arrested-for-videoing-a-public-event.html\">\r\nTisdale&#8217;s video<\/a>.\r\nNotice it stops before the screams for help.\r\nBut you can hear the deputy refusing to identify himself.\r\n<p>\r\nMaybe there&#8217;s a reason for that, if\r\nTim Adderholdt is correct in his op-ed in the Cherokee Ledger-News 17 September 2014,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ledgernews.com\/opinion\/letters\/sheriff-s-office-policy-gets-it-right\/article_a1166072-3dac-11e4-9494-001a4bcf6878.html\">\r\nSheriff&#8217;s office policy gets it right<\/a>,\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nSo, unless the off-duty officer was witness to a forcible felony or\r\na car crash, CCSO policy requires the off-duty officer to call an\r\non-duty officer to take over the situation. Trespass is not a\r\nforcible felony, so the policy of the CCSO forbids what happened at\r\nBurt&#8217;s Pumpkin Farm, where an off-duty deputy acted as a\r\nbouncer\/enforcer and forcibly removed a female citizen journalist\r\nfor not turning off her camera and leaving when asked. The Cherokee\r\nSheriff&#8217;s Office has it right.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nIf the deputy really wasn&#8217;t on duty, maybe he didn&#8217;t want to identify\r\nhimself as a Sheriff&#8217;s deputy because he actually wasn&#8217;t one at that time.\r\n<p>\r\nKimberly Boim wrote for the Dawson Advertiser 1 October 2014,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dawsonadvertiser.com\/view\/full_story_free\/25861703\/article-Tisdale-claims-portion-of-video-deleted?instance=breakingNews_article\">\r\nTisdale claims portion of video deleted<\/a>,\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\n&ldquo;Several people have watched my video of the Dawson rally and\r\ncompared it to a audio recording by Brian (Pritchard) at\r\nFetchYourNews.com,&rdquo; Tisdale said Friday. &ldquo;If you play\r\nthe two recordings simultaneously, they are not in alignment &#8230; the\r\npart where I screamed for help and representatives in the tent are\r\nlaughing at my cries for help, that part is missing.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n&ldquo;I don&#8217;t understand why. I have no answers but a lot of\r\nquestions,&rdquo; she said.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nTisdale admittedly has not done the comparison herself.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n&ldquo;It&#8217;s upsetting for me to watch the video,&rdquo; she said.\r\n&ldquo;I have not made any allegations. I don&#8217;t know what happened.\r\nI can&#8217;t make any determinations. It would take the skills of a\r\nforensic investigator. &#8230;It is inconceivable that I could have\r\nturned the camera off and back on with my hand behind my back while\r\nI was bent over the counter.&rdquo;\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nDawson County Sheriff Billy Carlisle said he would welcome an\r\noutside forensic investigation into whether Tisdale&#8217;s camera was\r\naltered.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nTo date, no investigation has been launched, Carlisle said.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nCarlisle also said nothing was altered, yet there&#8217;s no investigation.\r\nAnd he said no charges had actually been drawn up,\r\nalthough supposedly:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nTisdale faces felony charges of obstructing an officer and\r\nmisdemeanor criminal trespass.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nShe is accused of elbowing and kicking Capt. Tony Wooten, who made\r\nthe arrest.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nAnd:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\n&ldquo;I thought it would be over with by now,&rdquo; Tisdale said.\r\n&ldquo;I cannot leave the state of Georgia. I can&#8217;t visit my elderly\r\nmother in North Carolina or my husband&#8217;s family in Tennessee without\r\ngetting permission from the court.&rdquo;\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nTisdale posted a $6,200 bond and was released from the Dawson County\r\njail Sunday, Aug. 24.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nThat&#8217;s some fine southern hospitality, Pumpkin Farm.\r\nAs the Alma Times editorialized 8 September 2014,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thealmatimes.com\/articles\/2014\/09\/09\/opinion\/doc540e036fd587e556006138.txt\">\r\nThe camera never blinks<\/a>,\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nThe media coverage of the Tisdale incident has put Georgia in an\r\nembarrassing light &mdash; we&#8217;re now known as the state that beats\r\nup journalists.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nVideotape is a reality of modern-day politics. If you decide to run\r\nfor public office, you have to assume that your public remarks are\r\nlikely to be recorded by somebody. That&#8217;s how the game is played\r\nthese days.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nIf you&#8217;re running for office, or in office, and you&#8217;re at an event\r\nadvertised as open to the public,\r\nyou might as well learn to smile for the camera.\r\n<p>\r\nThe headliner at the Pumpkin Farm, sitting in the front row\r\nas citizen journalist Nydia Tisdale was roughed up and ejected, was Gov. Nathan Deal,\r\nwho did nothing then or later about it.\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/story\/2014\/09\/02\/1326493\/-Gov-Nathan-Deal-R-Hosts-GOP-Rally-Female-Video-Journalist-Arrested-Male-Journalist-Left-Alone#\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:300px\" src=\"http:\/\/images.dailykos.com\/images\/103434\/large\/Nathan_Deal_Arrest_Woman_Journalist_TWO.JPG?1409670242\"><\/a>\r\n<p>\r\nDeal did earlier\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/spectrabusters.org\/2014\/10\/04\/albany-herald-breaks-ga-gov-deal-spectra-campaign-contributions\/\">\r\naccept $10,000 in campaign contributions<\/a> from Spectra Energy&#8217;s PAC,\r\nand more from three other pipeline companies, for a total of $21,300,\r\nwhile Spectra&#8217;s proposed to gouge it&#8217;s Sabal Trail fracked methane\r\npipeline through Georgia and Deal does nothing about that, either.\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/carterforgovernor.com\/nathan-deal-refuses-to-criticize-forcible-removal-of-video-journalist\/\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:300px\" src=\"https:\/\/carterforgovernor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Reap-thumbnail.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nDemocratic Candidate for Governor Jason Carter, meanwhile,\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/carterforgovernor.com\/nathan-deal-refuses-to-criticize-forcible-removal-of-video-journalist\/\">\r\nhas spoken up against what happened to Nydia Tisdale<\/a>,\r\nhas not accepted any campaign\r\ncontributions from those companies, and has spoken up against\r\nNathan Deal accepting contributions from them.\r\n<p>\r\nNydia Tisdale&#8217;s previous\r\ncourt victory,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/transparencyprojectofgeorgia.com\/2014\/08\/26\/new-city-ordered-to-pay-12k-in-fines-for-open-meeting-violation-3\/\">\r\nCity ordered to pay $12k in fines for Open Meeting violation<\/a>,\r\nis top of the front page on Jim Zachary&#8217;s\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/transparencyprojectofgeorgia.com\/\">\r\ntransparency project of georgia<\/a>.\r\nMaybe Zachary will learn something from Tisdale about open records at his\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/10\/vdt-open-government-symposium-in-macon.html\">Open Government Symposium in Macon<\/a>.\r\nHm, she&#8217;s not listed as a speaker&#8230;.\r\n<p>\r\n -jsq\r\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It looks like the &#8220;public&#8221; Pumpkin Farm Republican campaign rally headlined by Gov.
