\r\nUpdate 2014-10-14:<\/strong> The board packet<\/a>\r\nhas the correct address, so if the county put that packet on its website the citizens wouldn’t be confused.\r\nAnd the\r\nlift pump replacement<\/a> got a single quote for \r\n$30,040.20, so this is yet another single-sourced non-competitive deal.\r\nWhy do Commissioners have no questions about that?\r\n

\r\nPlus an unscheduled\r\n\r\nrecognition of Leadership Lowndes attendees<\/a>,\r\na\r\n\r\nPlanning Commission<\/a> reappointment with no previous\r\nadvertisement,\r\nyet another\r\n\r\nwater pump replacement<\/a>,\r\na\r\n\r\nwell and septic rezoning<\/a> on Madison Highway,\r\nand a\r\n\r\nlegal grant<\/a>,\r\non the agenda<\/a>.\r\n

          \r\n\r\n\"300x255<\/a>\r\nWhich explains the cryptic reference to what turns out to be\r\n\r\nMAR-MEL-GO LLC in Parcel 0171 042D<\/a> just to the south.\r\nCounty Engineer Mike Fletcher said two of three adjoining property owners are in favor:\r\nMAR-MEL-GO and the people to the west.\r\nHe was apparently was playing telephone tag with the landowners to the east,\r\nyet he thought it would be ready for a public hearing tomorrow.\r\n

          \r\nHow are people supposed to know to go to a public hearing\r\nwhen it’s on the agenda for the wrong street,\r\nnot to mention with no street address?\r\n<\/p>\r\n

          \r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall wanted to know how the land would\r\nbe split up.\r\nAnswer: 50-50 between the adjoining landowners.\r\n

          \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nCounty Planner Jason Davenport said Bailey Equipment Company\r\nhad been nonconforming but allowed since their use predated\r\ncounty-wide zoning in the 1980s.\r\nApparently\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nParcel 0135 102<\/a>.\r\nHe said Bailey now wants to become conforming.\r\nStaff recommended by 5-2 vote to pursue C-C zoning (rather than M-2).\r\nThe applicants now would consider M-1 instead of M-2.\r\nThe Planning Commission voted 7-1 to recommend C-C zoning.\r\nDavenport thought it would be a challenge due to\r\n“history and unique issues” although he knew of no opposition.\r\nCommissioners had no questions.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

David Miller (whom we know reads this blog), Commissioners had no questions.\r\nHe wanted a renewal of a grant funded by fines on criminal defendants\r\nin federal court.\r\nEven the 5% match is paid for by fines.\r\nThe money supports victim services in five counties.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
