Option to Georgia DOT\u2014U.S. 84 at Clay Road and Hollywood Street\" src=\"http:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/_HFt1-6mHIs\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_HFt1-6mHIs&#038;list=PLshUv86fYkiHlSVgvsfkHI_J6Ojm_-xDz&#038;index=11\">Video.<\/a>\r\nCounty Engineer Mike Fletcher said:\r\n<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nThe Board of Commissioners voted yesterday in Executive Session\r\nto approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an option of right of way\r\nbetween Lowndes County and the DOT.\r\nThe board&#8217;s vote authorized the Chairman to sign the related\r\nreceipt of plans and an explanation acknowledgement,\r\nand for Mr. Pritchard to sign a related receipt and brochure.\r\n<p>\r\nThe board&#8217;s vote is subject to approval in a subsequent public vote.\r\nBefore the public vote, the property shall be identified and the\r\nterms of the disposal disclosed.\r\n<p>\r\nThe option gives the DOT an option to acquire the property of the county\r\nfor the right of way along US 84.\r\nThe property is 6,405.7 square feet or 1.47 acres on US 84 East\r\nat Clay Road and Hollywood Street.\r\nThe option gives the DOT an option to acquire the property for\r\na value of $5,400.\r\nThe term of this option is for sixty days.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\nThe part about subsequent public vote and identifying the property\r\nis paraphrased from the\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/law.ga.gov\/sites\/law.ga.gov\/files\/imported\/vgn\/images\/portal\/cit_1210\/62\/49\/186393706OMA_M_2012_Act_correctly_formatted.pdf\">\r\nGeorgia Open Meetings Act of 2012<\/a>,\r\n50-14-3 (b)(1).\r\nThat law doesn&#8217;t require them to say <strong>why<\/strong>\r\nthey&#8217;re selling the property, so they didn&#8217;t say.\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\nThey also didn&#8217;t give the address of the subject property.\r\nAccording to the Lowndes County Tax Assessors database,\r\nthe only corner of Clay, Hollywood, and US 84 owned by the county is\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/qpublic7.qpublic.net\/ga_display.php?county=ga_lowndes&#038;KEY=0157B%20072\">\r\nParcel 0157B 072<\/a> at the northeast corner, 2100 East Hill Avenue,\r\nwhich is actually owned by the Lowndes County Board of Education,\r\nand is 1.54 acres.\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center;font-size:80%\">\r\n<a title=\"631x535 2100 East Hill Avenue, in GDOT option at Clay, Hollywood, and US 84, by John S.
