Thank you Wikipedia and\nGoogle!\n<p>\nI researched private prisons over the weekend, and here are some of my\nquestions and &#8220;aha&#8221; statements:\n<ol>\n<li>\nPlease note: these Private Prisons are also called &#8220;For Profit\nPrison&#8221; &#8211; that right there should cause fear and trembling.\n<li>\nIf we as tax payers are funding these &#8220;Private\/For Profit Prisons&#8221;\nare we allowed a percentage of the profits?\n<li>\n&#8220;Private\/For Profit Prisons&#8221; typically enter into contractual\nagreements with governments &#8211; again &#8211; fear and trembling.\n<li>\nWhy build a private prison? Why not add on to the current prison\nlocated to the west of I-75?\n<li>\nIf you look online, there are many Private\/For Profit Prisons\nclosing due to the recession:\n<ul>\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/news.change.org\/stories\/the-recession-is-closing-private-prisons\">\nhttp:\/\/news.change.org\/stories\/the-recession-is-closing-private-prisons<\/a>,\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.corrections.com\/articles\/29647\">\nhttp:\/\/www.corrections.com\/articles\/29647<\/a>\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.texasprisonbidness.org\/money\/financial-interests\/state-budget-problems-may-lead-private-prison-closure\">\nhttp:\/\/www.texasprisonbidness.org\/money\/financial-interests\/state-budget-problems-may-lead-private-prison-closure<\/a>,\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/news\/business\/economicdevelopment\/new-florida-private-prison-lacks-inmates-but-has-political-support\/1083965\">\nhttp:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/news\/business\/economicdevelopment\/new-florida-private-prison-lacks-inmates-but-has-political-support\/1083965<\/a>\n<\/ul>\n<li>\nThere are inadequately staffed Private\/For Profit Prisons\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccpoa.org\/news\/tags\/tag\/private+prisons\">\nhttp:\/\/www.ccpoa.org\/news\/tags\/tag\/private+prisons<\/a>\nThis will lead to an increase in prisoners escaping.\n<li>\nPrison employees typically live outside the county they work in, so\nhow will this help our local economy?\n<\/ol>\nI haven&#8217;t completed my research. I will continue to look into these\nquestions and &#8220;ahas&#8221; until I understand the pros and cons completely.\n<p>\nUntil then &mdash; I think March 13 is the deadline?
